The groom draws near coming up from
the desert
The home of his beloved is lighted by the lamps of her
bridesmaids
Before him a feast is prepared to refresh and
rouse his desire
Raisins, figs, almonds, apples &
pommegranates
Incense, oil, perfume & spiced
wine
Her white dress radiates the beauty of her
way
She openly desires her king
for love has waited
for her proper time
He lifts up her veil to behold the eyes
that burn for his eyes only
A dove rises from her
eyes to place a seal
on the heart of her
lover
Forgotten is the fruit of Eden
she offers
him the fruit of blessed union
Faithfulness flowers in a covenant
of love
their desire is for each other

Under the tree of life lay the man and the
woman
in the beginning place the woman was drawn from the man
the first
human was divided by the hand of God

Under the tree of love lay the man and the woman
what
God had made into two He called back into oneness
reunited
are the woman and the man

under the tree of self seeking shames the woman and the
man
what was oneness they now divided and so became afraid of their own
nakedness
trapped deeply in the self and its needs they
hide their hearts and their love
they hide their life from God and each
other God called to them
"where are you?"
and they knew not

under the tree of sadness lay the woman and the
man
lost is the security of the garden love must now labor
in the fields
the beauty and freedom of nakedness is driven from the garden
of Eden
under the tree of restoration lay the man and the
woman
and at the highest moment of love we again lay naked
together
touching in wonder each other's
beauty

under the tree of eternity lay the man and the
woman
in ecstasy of union together in God
